The Cumberland County Food Security Council (CCFSC) is a coalition organization based in Cumberland County, Maine, USA.Its core work: coordination and advocacy.The goal of this community organization is to create a fair, strong, and lasting food system.Everyone needs access to healthy local food.In order to realize this vision, CCFSC organizes educational meetings and pop-up events across Cumberland County to raise awareness of food security and unite local leaders in the fight for a world free from hunger.

What was the challenge?
CCFSC helps different communities.Events or conferences often include speakers and participants who speak Spanish, French, Somali, and English. In these multilingual settings, crucial policy details and core messages about "food justice" often vanished in translation.Communication barriers limited full participation, leaving some community members' voices unheard.Bulky and non-durable communication equipment, unsuitable for outdoor or mobile scenarios, hampered CCFSC's need for mobility with pop-up events in various locations. These challenges stood in the way of CCFSC's core values of inclusion and equity.
