Frequently Asked Questions on Retekess TR502 FM Transmitter

Frequently Asked Questions on Retekess TR502 FM Transmitter

Retekess TR502 FM transmitter is the most popular one stationary transmitter in 2019. There are many things concerned with our customers. We collected and made the answers below. I hope it helpful to you if you are considering getting one of the FM transmitters.

Q: What’s the pre-emphasis of the TR502 box transmitter?

A: It is 75us

Q: Is the PC intelligent broadcast software included with the transmitter?

A: There is no software comes with the package, you could download it later from our website directly. For now, you could email us to request the software for free.

Q: What’s the range of the TR502 FM transmitter?

A: It is about 3-4 km

Q: How to improve the range of the box transmitter?

A: The way to increase range is to make sure the antenna is tuned properly, is as high as you can get it. The alternative is to use an outdoor antenna on a mast. Be sure that the transmitter is at full power also

Q: How to buy the antenna separately?

A: Retekess provides all the accessories for our products, you just need to email at support@retekess.com with your detail needs.

Q: How to turn the transmission power down?

A: Turn the unit on with the antenna fully extended. After the unit is on and transmitting, push the power button one more time quick and let go. The symbol of an antenna in the top left corner should be blinking. If the antenna symbol is not blinking hit the power button till it does. Now hit the down button, this will bring the unit down to 5 watts. Never lower the antenna from its full length an this will damage the transmitter. The difference between 5 and 15 watts will be about half the range.

Q: Why the transmitter seems to constantly buzz?

A: If so, please do as the following instructions:

Make sure your audio input is plugged into the "audio" port and not the "mike" port.
Make sure your antenna is the correct length
Check that your antenna is not touching anything
If your accessory cord and your power cord to your communication media (iPod, computer, etc) are entangled or touching that will cause interference, if your media is to close to your antenna same.
Choose a broadcast frequency that is clear, and that means all the time, sometimes the weather can bring a station in that is not normally a problem, that will cause hiss as well.
Sometimes solar activity causes interference and problems, there is nothing much you can do for that except wait it out with this equipment, it is usually a matter of a day or so

Q: Can I change the transmitting channel with the software on a PC?

A: This unit has an adjustable FM selector just like your radio.. you can broadcast on any frequency on the FM dial from 87. to 107. PC not needed.

If the information helpful to you or not?

Now, it's your turn, please let me know what do you do with the TR502 FM transmitter?

Hello we have about 10 of these units . We use them in East Timor and the Solomon islands for small local village radio. We have them with matching outdoor GP fm Antenna with 8-15 Meter coaxial cable mounted on a suitable mast above local church or hut. They work great and we get over 6 KM range . However after a few months some have stopped working. the lights and menu still work, but no signal when we bought the units back to Australia we tested using power meter and dummy load and zero power. How can we diagnose the problem and fix? is there a repairs and maintenance manual or schematic diagram for our broadcast techs to use to repair? We think the most likely thing is that the transistor has failed. No obvious indicators of burning or tacks from lightning strike. Hello, May I know how many transmitters have the problem?Do you mean that they can be turned on but do not transmit? If it is possible for you to send us a short video to show the issue that you mentioned to support@retekess.com? By the way, you have to install the antenna well before power it on.
