Customer Feedback on TE101 Hearing Aid for Mild Hearing Loss

TE101 Hearingsense1 hearing aid features multiple functions, and due to its gain settings, this product is suitable for mild hearing loss. It is equipped with an automatic hearing loss fitting function, supports Bluetooth, and allows users to adjust gain settings independently.

Advantages:

① Convenient to carry. Whenever I go out, when I have to or want to remove the hearing aid, due to the delicate structure of BTE, ITE, or RITE hearing aids, there is always a risk of damage or loss. You can simply put the Retekess TE101 in your pocket, just like TWS earbuds, without any worries. Unlike other hearing aids, they enter a power-saving sleep mode and wake up when re-worn. This is different from other “on/off” switches, where the battery gradually drains.

② I haven’t encountered the TV issues mentioned in other reviews.  

③ The hearing aids turn off when placed in the charging case.  

④ Performance and feature sets are comparable to or better than mainstream over-the-counter hearing aids, but the price is significantly higher. Individuals with hearing loss up to -55dB, especially those who have undergone age-related slope hearing tests, will benefit greatly.  

⑤ No reliance on Google devices or apps. It is ready to use out of the box, allowing instant switching between four modes with a button press and enabling separate volume adjustment since the hearing aids are not synchronized. Changes made via the app are synchronized.  

⑥ No Retekess account is required.  

⑦ Price. The manufacturing quality, feature set, and audio and processor efficiency of the HearingSense 1 hearing aids redefine the concept of “affordable.”  

⑧ I frequently use hearing aids purchased from Retekess. I have a pair of behind-the-ear hearing aids that I’ve used for a long time. They are expensive, but Retekess offers more features, and the self-testing functionality on the mobile app is much more convenient for me than before, when I had to visit an audiologist for further assistance.

Drawbacks:  

① The striking bright white color can trigger streaming bias, leading to the development of “transparent” earbud settings. Additionally, it may perpetuate ageism/disability stigma. Medium gray or skin-tone colors could mitigate these effects.  

② The connection randomly disconnects when I move around at home; the only way to reconnect is to place them in the charging case and remove them.  

③ No firmware updates.

④ Cannot create custom profiles in the app; must use default settings. Resetting to default requires resetting each hearing aid individually.

If you want flesh-colored, discreet hearing aids, you can choose TE201. This product has been verified by multiple customers to not interfere with TV viewing and provides clear sound. However, this product is suitable for moderate hearing loss; those with mild hearing loss should purchase with caution.
